We use your information within the context of the service that is chosen by you. Egardia considers the careful handling of personal data of great importance. We therefore carefully process and secure all personal data.

Our processing of personal data complies with the requirements set by the privacy legislation. This means, among other things, that:

  • We clearly state the purposes for which we process personal data, by means of our privacy statement;
  • We limit our collection of personal data to only personal data necessary for legitimate purposes;
  • We first ask you for explicit permission to process your personal data in cases where your permission is required;
  • We take appropriate security measures to protect your personal data and also require this from any third parties that process these personal data for us;
  • We respect your right to request your personal data for insight, correction or deletion.

Egardia is the responsible party for data processing. In this privacy statement, we explain which personal data we collect and use and for what purpose. We advise you to read this carefully.

This privacy statement was last modified on 16-03-2021 00:00:00.

Use of personal data

We create an account for every customer who purchases a service from us. Your account includes the following details:

  • Your name and address;
  • Phone number;
  • Billing address;
  • E-mail address;
  • Payment details;
  • The name and phone numbers of your contacts;
  • Camera footage.

When you create an account at Egardia, you determine and set the password yourself. Passwords are not known to Egardia.

You can correct and delete your data yourself with your chosen username and password.

When you create an account at Egardia, we store your data on a secure server.

We only store and use the personal data that you provide directly, within the context of the requested service.

Customer service

In order to be able to help you properly when you contact our customer service, we request your personal data, such as your name, address, e-mail address and telephone number. This information is only used to answer your question as well and quickly as possible. Every time you contact us, we make a note about what we discussed, so you do not have to tell your story twice and we can help you more quickly!

Providing information to third parties

Occasionally, we have to hire external companies to help us with certain services. In some of these cases, we need to share your data with those companies because they need it in order to perform and fulfil a service for Egardia and ultimately for you.

We restrict the data we share with third parties to only the purposes for which the other party needs them. They are strictly controlled by Egardia to ensure that your privacy remains protected. These parties may never use or pass on your data independently.

We may pass on your data if we are obliged to do so by certain laws and regulations and/or legal rulings. In addition, we may also pass on your data in case our organization or part of it is sold and the buyer requires your data to continue the service(s) that you use.

Camera footage

Employees of Egardia cannot view camera footage from installed cameras. Stored camera footage can also not be accessed by employees of Egardia. Customers can give Egardia employees access to their personal environment when this is necessary for installation and service related activities.

Location Access

The Egardia app collects location data to enable automatically turning on your alarm system when the last resident leaves home and to enable automatically sending a verification message for deactivating the alarm system when the first resident comes back home. The app will access the device location even when the app is closed or not in use.

Security

We take security measures to limit abuse of and unauthorized access to personal data.

Retention periods

The personal data described above are retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the service. The data will then be erased unless there is a statutory obligation that requires longer storage (such as the seven-year fiscal retention obligation for payment data).

Changes to this privacy statement

We reserve the right to make changes to this privacy statement. It is advisable to consult this privacy statement regularly so that you are aware of these changes.

Insight and modification of your data

For questions about our privacy statement or questions regarding insight of and changes to (or deletion of) your personal data, please contact us at any time using the information below.

You can also send us a request to view, change or delete this data. In addition, you can submit a data export request for data that we use with your consent, or motivate that you would like us to limit the processing of your personal data.

In order to prevent abuse, we may ask you to adequately identify yourself. When it comes down to access to personal data linked to a cookie, you need to send a copy of the cookie in question. You can find it in the settings of your browser. If the information is not correct, you can ask us to change the data or have it removed.

Data Protection Authority (DPA)

Of course we will gladly help you if you have complaints about the processing of your personal data. Under the privacy legislation, you also have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority against the processing of your personal data.
